Philosophy

Philosophy means the love of wisdom.  It was the first field of study invented by mankind and from it all other fields ultimately have their origin.  Having a basic understanding of philosophy was traditionally considered the core of anyone’s liberal education.  However, since philosophy is about freeing one’s mind to think about new perspectives and possibilities it is generally viewed as dangerous by those in authority, so long as authority is synonymous with ignorance, force and intimidation.  For this reason philosophy is ignored, occulted or even openly attacked in publicly and religiously funded schools.  Considering just how important philosophy is, I have included some philosophical essays here to help explain the ideas and message behind Four Birds Education is a broader and deeper sense for those who like to challenge themselves intellectually.
